No Other Woman
Last night, I had the chance to watch the movie “ No Other Woman” which stars Anne Curtis, Derek Ramsay and Cristine Reyes. Well, for all those who haven’t heard of it, the story is pretty simple. Perfect family, husband and wife (Ramsay- Reyes). Husband sees a gorgeous, flirty and “challenging” woman. Husband does the killer first kiss. Husband cheats. Husband falls in love. Wife catches the affair. Wife attacks . Gorgeous woman retaliates. Then, the famous lines. End of story. This story is rich of killer lines. Outfits were gooorgeous. Lots of "ouchy" scenes. I may say, it is now on my top Tagalog favorite movies. Well, I guess I’m biased of Anne Curtis, being my favorite. Plus, her portrayal of a uber perfect role. Love it!
I admit, I cried. And I still enjoy the hangover of it. I got touched by both the characters of Curtis and Reyes. I guess, I simply just understand them both. Not that I played both roles in my previous life, but, may be that I felt the pain on both situations.--- Of course, being a feminist, I hate Ramsay’s character. But then I have no choice since every character is this world is well-represented. I just hope I don’t get to breathe the same air with them. Anyway, going back. For me, it’s not entirely Curtis’ fault but as can be carved out from the movie, it just appeared that it was her sole decision. But I guess, it just shifted out from the idea on who's to blame. It just instead focused on the scenarios and probably was just custom-fit for the mindset of the viewers, that is-- “the third party is always to blame”. Well, its going to move away from its plot if the story would delve on that. Then, it would be boooring.
It’s nice to watch this kind of local films. Not so much of a drama. Not so much of unreality to please the viewers. Not so phony. But rather, straightforward. Sapul-- if I may say. And I looove it!
