Another Wedding
I have maintained a long list of dreams with my friends. The
longest might be is with my UPIS friends as we have been together since we have
not gotten our monthly visits yet. Some in the list were ignored. Some were
missed. Some were still trying to be achieved.
But, finally, one, was made into reality.
I would like to think that every girl’s dream is to wear a
beautiful gown and walk down the altar together with her equally lovely parents
while her groom is waiting for her, crying.
This same idea was part of our dream list. Hence, when one of us finally wore a white
dress and was brought by her parents to her crying groom, I realized that one
in the list is formally and inarguably marked with a big check. Apparently,
it’s not me. It’s another friend of mine whom we thought would not go first.
Well, that’s basing on our night dreams we have collected in years.

As usual, we drank tequila. Thank goodness she’s a friend
because she continuously brings us drink with just a smirk as a chaser. Boo
you. I think I got a little tipsy. Well, that’s as far as I remember though.
And so she has changed her last name. I know, its not the only thing that will
change on her. Imana and I always say—Grabe,
Mrs. Na si Lyn!—I know there will be a lot of changes. Tsk. What the err is
time doing to us? Well, I hope everything is for the best.
So Congratulations to the newest reduction to the
heartbreakers. Good luck on your journey on the saying—Ang pag-aasawa ay hindi parang isang mainit na kanin na pag isinubo mo at napaso ka ay pwede mong iluwa. May you indeed
make a good contribution to the nation’s population.

And for the garter, its still with me. Like me, just there
waiting.
